![]() ![]() I've only ever found one style of cover art between the four different editions in my collection. There appear to be three versions for American audiences: hardcover, softcover, library hardcover. Upon close examination of the title pages, all three are identical! I thought softcovers were always given a different ISBN, but apparently not. Here's the US publication info: Henry Holt and Company, Inc. Softcover and hardcover are virtually identical; however, the bar code with UPC symbol on the lower left corner of the hardcover is missing on the softcover. The additional information is: ISBN 0-03-007324-3 The edition that I'm referring to as a library hardcover does not have the back cover art. Instead, plain yellow backing is printed with pink lines over most of the back. The front art is cropped slightly, so that a border of the yellow background surrounds the art rather than allowing the picture to extend to the edge. The regular edition has a smooth finish for its cover, but the library version is textured, seemingly more heavy-duty with the art printed on, almost like a painting on canvas. I'm fairly certain there are both hardcover and softcover versions printed in the United Kingdom. These may have a different publishing house, as LABYRINTH: The Photo Album and the novel have different UK and US publishers. Sorry I can't provide any further details. The only foreign language version I know of is the German edition (which was printed in Belgium - where they speak French and Flemish/Dutch! Go figure...) Aus dem Englischen von Ingeborg Andreas-Hoole Aside from the modified title page reproduced above and positioning of the author and illustrator's name directly below the Labyrinth title rather an at the bottom of the front cover, the German version is practically identical to the US editions. The Goblins' Library has finally gone international and is thrilled to finally present the German Language Version of Labyrinth: The Storybook Based on the Movie. |
